Every year incredible amounts of leftover grocery greens, vegetable leftovers and plant material are just tossed out. All of these ‘leftovers’ can be composted and turned into beautiful, rich, soil building compost.
When we cook compost we take this:

Composting recycleables is not only healthy for our world, but the finished compost gives back to the soil in the form of valuable nutrients lost in garden and crop production.
Composting these huge amounts of ‘forgotten food’ is a sustainable activity.
Grocery stores will continue to throw away produce past it’s expiration date, there will be fallen leaves in the fall, yard waste such as grass clippings, and more.
When all of these items are composted and added to the home garden or used in crop production, the enriched soil can produce healthier food, prettier flowers, and better gardens!
